Story Type, Category and Sub-Category Relationships:
A Story type is bound to a blog.
A Category is bound to a story type.
A Subcategory is bound to a category.
- Since a story type is bound to a blog, this means that two story types with the same name (regardless of their types) are different on each blogs.
- Removing/changing a certain level requires erasing all levels below.
- We can’t automatically transfer the categorization hierarchy from one blog to another.
Deleting Story Types/Categories/Sub-Categories:
As a blog owner or superuser, I cannot delete story types ever and will need to ask tech to do so.
As a blog owner or superuser, I can delete a category if there are no posts associated with it.
As a blog owner or superuser, I can delete a sub-category if there are no posts associated with it.
There is an error message if a blog owner clicks on a cat/subcat ‘trash can’ with posts associated and confirms the delete. It reads “This category/subcategory has posts associated with it and cannot be deleted.”
Editing Story Types/Categories/Sub-Categories:
As an author or superuser, I can change a posts blog and story type if there are no categories associated with it.
As an author or superuser, I cannot change a posts blog and story type if there are categories associated with it.
