Product and Feature Updates about Kinja

Account Creation, Login & Security

While on any Kinja page and logged out, you’ll see a silhouette icon on the right side of the global navigation bar. Click this icon to open the login screen. On this screen, you can login or create an account using Google, Facebook, or Twitter. Do not create a Burner account!

If you’re creating a new account and you’re on the FMG Gmail instance, you should select Google as your login option. If you already have a Kinja account that isn’t linked to your FMG Gmail, contact the support team to ask for an account swap.

Regardless which third-party service you use to login, you should make absolutely sure it has two-factor authentication enabled! This point cannot be reinforced enough: safety first. If you don’t know what 2FA is or aren’t sure if it’s enabled, ask someone. Seriously.*

Once you’ve logged in, the silhouette icon should change to your personal avatar, or a default mosaic if you’re haven’t chosen an avatar yet.

Congratulations! You’re ready to master Kinja.
